    Primary Responsibilities

    As a member of the Grid Integration and Services team the Network Engineer will translating business requirements into technical network (LAN/WAN) designs and then implement them. This will include participating in and leading network projects, communicating status cross-organizationally and facilitating completion within project timelines and budgets. Candidate must be comfortable working independently in the office and in the field on customer sites. Primary responsibility will be to implement and support networks on customer sites worldwide.


    Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attitudes

    Candidate should have

    • Working knowledge of IP networking: routing, subnets and domains
    • In-depth understanding of Telecommunication and TCP/IP theory, wiring, LAN/WAN design/configuration, and other network systems.
    • Hands-on experience with fiber and copper wiring, routers, switches and other network equipment, including ability to work between and make determinations against the strengths/weaknesses of each.
    • Ability to configure and troubleshoot network devices, such as, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
    • Hands-on experience with Ethernet, Mobile, and Satellite network technologies.
    • Ability to work with suppliers and vendors to resolve critical technical issues in a timely manner
    • Familiarity and hands-on experience with serial communications technologies, including, RS-232, RS-485 and associated protocols.
    • Ability to use network analysis tools, including remote diagnostics tools and systems.
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity, ITIL, ISO 27001 best practices, NERC CIP.
    • 4 or more years of experience in any of the following areas: TCP/IP, T1, Frame Relay, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, RIP, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP
    • Ability to work in a project-based, fast paced, autonomous working environment
    • BA/BS Degree (Engineering or CS major preferred) or equivalent experience Highly desired, but, not required
      • Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems and web technologies
      • CCIE, CCNA or similar certification
      • SCADA experience in any industry environment, including utilities and infrastructure related roles




    This position requires demonstrated expertise in:

    • Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred.
    • 10 to 15 years of IT experience
    • Experience designing network architectures to meet corporate financial and technical need.
    • Strong network troubleshooting skills
    • Strong knowledge of wireless technologies
    • Strong Security fundamentals for a networking environment
    • Experience managing a VMware network
    • Knowledge of Linux a plus



    • Degree in Computer Science.
    • Cisco Certification: CCNA, or CCNP is preferred.
    • A minimum of 7 years of experience implementing Cisco network infrastructure including LAN/WAN/VOIP
    • Experience with Cisco ASA firewalls
    • Experience with Cisco VOIP phone systems
    • Knowledge of MPLS networking

    Location: Westborough, MA 


    Travel and potential off hours support are requirements, with up to ~ 30% yearly average for travel both domestic and international
