    Responsibilities

     

    Position Overview

    This position reports to the Director of the Supply Chain and is primarily responsible for the Engineering and business management of key energy storage technologies and their associated technologies (Such as cell technology, module, and battery storage) to meet corporate technology, cost, and delivery goals. The individual will be the critical lead interface into our partner suppliers for these commodities, by leading technology assessments, cost negotiations and collaborating with product Engineering and Operations functions to ensure sourced technology meet the needs of the business. In this role you will play a pivotal role in directly influencing business decisions that impact our company and customers. 

     Primary Responsibilities

    • Assess, track and make technology and commercial recommendations to the organization in regards to Energy Storage Commodities.
    • Lead technology, cost, delivery and all other related terms with energy storage partners.
    • Function as NECES interface and expert for all energy storage Partners as it relates to product selection and implementation into specific NECES projects.
    • Understands internal customer specific technical and commercial requirements and assures timely resolution of deliverables
    • Works with Buyers, Sales, Engineering, Marketing and Operations personnel to assure timely resolution of product related issues
    • Continually stays connected to the market trends and dynamics for the specific technologies
    • Lead in the development and execution of negotiation strategies with suppliers to achieve specific targets for pricing, service, quality & supply.
    • Build and maintain global supplier relationships at executive level
    • Travel as needed to participate in supplier audits and on site supplier meetings
    • Conduct periodic business reviews with key suppliers that review supplier performance and key initiatives
    • Lead Request For Quotation (RFQ) process with all key stakeholders.
    • Ensure strong supplier governance, performance and relationship
    • Collect, manage, and understand key supply management information, including supply continuity risk assessments, annual shipments, annual product pricing.
    • Other responsibilities as assigned

    Qualifications

    Specific Skills/Abilities

    • Expert knowledge of global supply chain for energy storage components (cells, modules, storage)
    • Skilled at pricing and terms & conditions negotiations.
    • Drive Supply management processes and initiatives to ensure that balance between supply alignment, upside flexibility, liability control, and cost management goals
    • Ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders to drive on-going sourcing
    • Ability to lead and influence change in the face of complexity and ambiguity
    • Excellent communicator, ability to speak and present effectively to peers and high level executives.
    • Proficient with managing and understanding cross-cultural business practices.
    • Ability to leverage networks and relationships
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.  Must be able to follow through on assignments with little to no supervision.
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent required.
    • MBA a plus.
    • 10+ years’ experience in technology sourcing, or related fields
