    Responsibilities

    Position Overview

     

    Work directly with the SQA and Software Engineers to implement, maintain and execute a suite of tests for an embedded Linux control system.

     

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Create test plans
    • Author and execute automated and manual test(s)
    • Execute manual tests when needed
    • Develop testing strategy
    • Generate project test documentation
    • Generate reports for testing results
    • Interface with SQA lead, software developers and product management to refine software test requirements
    • Document and explain testing approach to technical managerial staff
    • Assist with the selection, implementation, configuration and operation of test tools and systems such as, Selenium
    • Assist software developers in establishing an automated unit testing framework for continuous integration
    • Administer Linux test systems
    • Log and track issues using bug tracking system
    • Assist with software support duties upon request

    Qualifications

     

    • Python experience is required; familiarity with other scripting languages will be considered
    • Experience understanding and documenting complex systems
    • Familiarity with source code control systems (Subversion preferred)
    • Web based user interface (UI) testing (HTTP, JavaScript, PHP)
    • Experience with agile development methodologies a plus
    • Familiar with Software Development practices (Agile, SDLC, etc.)
    • Familiar with Defect Tracking systems (Jira preferred)
    • Experience testing in a Linux environment (including installing and maintaining environments)

      Desired (Not Required):
    • Experience with hardware, power or utilities applications
    • Experience with IP networking and protocols

    Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Attitudes

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
    • 3 -5 years in software testing
    • 3+ years Unix/Linux experience
    • Excellent verbal and written skills
    • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, dynamic work environment 

    Travel: Occasional travel may be required.

    Location: Westborough, MA or Chesterfield, MO.
