    Responsibilities

    Position Overview

    The Director of Sales will be responsible for using his/her knowledge of the power industry to understand, develop, and execute a business plan for sales to utilities, independent power producers and other target customers. The individual must have experience in selling large scale projects to target customers, be able to put together the required project approach including internal resources and external partners to bring a deal to fruition. This role includes responsibility for building relationships within targeted market segments, maintaining these relationships, and working with the team to create visibility at all appropriate levels. Position will also play a critical role in bringing customer needs into the product evolution plans of the company as well as support and develop new/ additional segments of the business.    

    This position is based in the assigned territory

    Primary responsibilities

    • Develop and execute sales plan to penetrate target markets and drive revenue to meet/exceed forecast.
    • Penetrate targeted accounts at all appropriate levels and establish relationships with key decision makers; build long-term relations for large-scale project sales.
    • Align the NEC energy Solutions team with customer contacts.
    • Bring customer requirements to Product Management to support future product/service offering planning.
    • Support annual, quarterly and monthly sales forecasting, pipeline and RFP activities
    • Represent the Company at appropriate conferences; provide customer-level knowledge to Marketing/PMO/Executive Staff.

     

     

    Qualifications

    Specific Skills/Abilities

    • Understanding of the electric industry required; renewable energy experience desirable.
    • Consultative and Complex Sales Processes.
    • Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, written and verbal.
    • Strong team-orientation skills and ability to work knowledgeably and collaboratively.
    • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking required.

     

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelors in Business, Science or Engineering field; MBA a plus
    • Minimum of 10 years of technical sales experience with complex systems and solutions.
    • Technical ability to grasp complex projects.
    • Customer references required.
    • Up to 50% travel required.
