    Responsibilities

    Position Overview

    This role is responsible for the development of the Remote Monitoring and Diagnostic Center (AEROS® Command) for NEC Energy Solutions’ global install base. This position serves as the primary resource to optimize the functionality and assist both customers and service team members to effectively identify and diagnose product and site issues. This position is also responsible for managing fleetwide data, generation of metrics and coordination of system requirements with our IT and AEROS® Software teams.

    Primary responsibilities

    • Document remote support process and create strategy to expand with our increasing customer base
    • Develop site performance dashboards and reporting for internal/external use
    • Work with sustaining engineering and FSEs to improve remote troubleshooting procedures, faults and alerts
    • Own generation of installed fleet performance metrics
    • Automation of system trouble tickets and outage reports identified through monitoring system and process of driving to closure escalating to service team or engineering
    • Setup monitoring of VPN data communications network at customer sites
    • Perform administrative support for performance and monitoring of remote sites
    • Optimize event logic/alerts to minimize time to identify issues and repair system
    • Provide pre-sales technical support during sales cycle for remote monitoring as a service offering
    • Provide requirements to software development for remote monitoring capabilities
    • Setup new customer and NEC setup in our control system and monitoring system for new sites
    • Support systems engineering to analyze and mine operations data to identify patterns and correlations among the various data points

    Preferred

    • Experience in VPN infrastructure support & monitoring
    • Experience in remote monitoring operations center
    • Experience troubleshooting network issues
    • Cisco switches/firewall experience
    • Working knowledge of database management & and query scripting for mysql
    • Experience with Zabbix Monitoring tool and Grafana graphical interface.

     

     

    Education/Experience/Work Environment

    • 5 + years direct exposure service/field support
    • B.S. in Engineering, Math and Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline
    • Willingness to travel, at times, 10% domestic and international
    • Flexibility with working overtime as needed and being on-call at off-hours a must.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and passport and be willing /able to drive and fly to field sites as needed.
