    Responsibilities

    Position Overview
    NECES is seeking an individual to be a senior member of the NECES product development engineering team. The position requires working collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to design novel solutions to complex utility scale energy storage challenges. The individual in this role will be called upon to be an innovative problem solver, provide technical leadership, work cross functionally, and communicate effectively with others within and outside the organization.

    Primary responsibilities

    • Prepare electrical design requirements and system–level architecture documents.
    • Lead electrical engineering design efforts to scope, define, implement and validate mixed signal electrical circuit boards and high power energy conversion systems.
    • Work with mechanical, thermal, software, and manufacturing engineering disciplines to ensure overall system requirements are cost effectively being meet.
    • Oversee the release of the electrical designs and component selection to production.
    • Take responsibility for design activities, ensure solution meets requirements, and execution meets schedule requirements.
    • Specifically design analog and digital high voltage DC and AC circuits.
    • Prepare design review materials and participate in design reviews
    • Work with Program Management on estimating project effort, reporting on project progress and task execution.
    • Execute worst case analysis on design to meeting company quality standards
    • Perform and review FIT DFMEA analysis activities on systems to verify system performance to requirements.
    • Support and mentor junior staff members and individuals from other departments.

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience

    • Must have at least a BSEE degree, MSEE or higher preferred.
    • 20+ years of electrical product design with 10+ years of analog/digital circuit design.
    • Deep knowledge of signal integrity and electrical safety best practices.
    • Demonstrated excellent problem solving skills.
    • Must have excellent English written and oral communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability of working well within a team and independently to achieve results.
    • Familiartity with electrical interfaces such as I2C, SPI, PCIe, UBS, etc.
    • Full cycle PCB design including requirements collection, schematic design, component selection, supervision of layout, bring-up, test, debug, system and software integration.
    • Proven track record with:
      • Analog mixed signal PCB design.
      • Design partitioning and EMI budgeting to maximize signal integrity.
      • Detailed design and simulation of analog building blocks and subsystems (DAC, ADC, clocking, voltage regulators and high voltage DC power supplies).
      • Oversite of PCB layout and partitioning.
      • Release of electrical designs to manufacturing.
    • Must have permanent legal authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
